Kids’ University focuses on helping children from Houston’s lower economic communities and area homeless shelters to have an opportunity to build upon their academic skills and learn the importance of achieving a higher education.
Kids’ University is open to children ages 6-17 and to children living in Houston area homeless shelters. For one week over 100 children converge at University of Houston for a week-long experience of college life. At the end of the week, the children receive “diplomas” in front of a cheering crowd of parents, volunteers and new friends.
Because Change Happens is run on donations, we’re joining their efforts to provide these children with an experience that will leave them inspired.
Virtually everyone living in the area is aware of the dangers affecting the children in communities such as the Third Ward. This week-long trip will shine light into these children’s hearts.
We want to also let you know that as active Agents of Change we are committed to keeping our community members in good hands. Every 30-90 days we will elect a new worthy cause to support, and would love for you to join us! And if you know of someone who could use help, please visit the link below to enter their information. We will get in touch with them as soon as possible.
